1、作息時間：在喜歡早睡的家庭，寄宿學(xué)生晚上九時以后最好不要再使用電話與人聊天，也不要在洗漱時弄出很大響動，更不要夜半歸來，以免影響房東休息。
2、洗浴方面：寄宿學(xué)生最好搬入后就詢問清楚自己洗澡的合適時間，以免時間發(fā)生沖突或沒有熱水。洗澡時盡量縮短時間，洗完后要將浴室清潔一下，開窗換氣。
3、朋友來訪：一般情況下，一定要征得寄宿家庭的同意方可邀請朋友來訪，切不可自作主張經(jīng)常讓朋友前來，以免打擾寄宿家庭的日常生活，絕對不要留朋友在自己房間過夜。
4、適當(dāng)幫忙：主動參與是融入家庭的最好表現(xiàn)，寄宿學(xué)生最好不要心存“我付錢你勞動”的想法，應(yīng)適當(dāng)參與一些家務(wù)勞動，如飯前擺放與飯后收拾餐桌、洗碗、幫助清潔房屋等等。
5、練習(xí)會話：多找機(jī)會、找話題與房東聊天，但不能不分場合、不看臉色死纏爛打地讓房東與你練習(xí)口語。
6、收拾房間：每周六或周日，寄宿的學(xué)生要對自己的房間做一次全面清潔，整理好自己的物品。即便在平日里也不要出現(xiàn)不疊被褥、房間里亂七八糟的現(xiàn)象，要保持房間干凈整潔。
7、早餐：美國家庭是非常注重吃早點(diǎn)的，每天早上要一家人一起吃早點(diǎn)，因此這也是中國學(xué)生不習(xí)慣的，在這方面是體現(xiàn)家庭溫馨的一點(diǎn)。
